# Field projection

> Comma-separated fields, dot paths, and fields=*.

Pass `fields` as a comma-separated list. Dot paths project nested keys. Unknown paths are omitted.

| Value | Result |
| - | - |
| `(omitted)` | Full country objects, including flags. |
| `fields=*` | Same as omitted: full objects. |
| `fields=name,cca2` | Only those top-level keys. |
| `fields=name.common,cca2,flags` | Nested name.common plus cca2 and flags. |
| `fields=wikidataId,enrichment.economics` | Top-level Wikidata id plus nested economics only. |
| `fields=enrichment.government.website,enrichment.computed` | Deep paths under enrichment. |

  **Keep payloads small**

  The default full object includes translations, maps, demonyms, and the full enrichment block. Project the fields you use.
