# Filter routes

> Alpha, name, capital, region, language, currency, and more.

Each filter returns up to `limit` matches (1–5, default 5). Use `offset` to walk results. All support `fields` projection.

## GET /v1/alpha/{codes}

`{codes}` is comma-separated ISO 3166-1 alpha-2, alpha-3, or numeric (ccn3). Multiple countries can match.

## GET /v1/name/{name}

Default: substring match on common or official names. `?fullText=true` requires an exact common or official name. Empty name path returns 400.

## GET /v1/capital/{capital}

## GET /v1/region/{region}

Match the geographic region string stored on each record (e.g. Europe, Americas).

## GET /v1/subregion/{subregion}

curl "https://api.reqi.dev/v1/subregion/Western%20Europe?fields=cca2&limit=5"

## GET /v1/lang/{lang}

ISO 639 language code as used in each country’s languages object keys.

```

## GET /v1/currency/{currency}

ISO 4217 currency code (keys in the currencies object).

curl "https://api.reqi.dev/v1/currency/eur?fields=cca2,currencies&limit=5"
```

## GET /v1/independent

`status` query is required: `true` or `false`.

curl "https://api.reqi.dev/v1/independent?status=true&fields=cca2&limit=5"
```

## GET /v1/random

Always returns exactly one country in a one-element array (subject to offset/limit).
